Entitled “Physico Chemical Characterization of Antihyperglycemic Drugs”, Pharmaline and the University of Balamand were recently awarded third prize at the LIRA Forum. “On behalf of Pharmaline, we would like to congratulate Joyce Saliba, Masters of Chemical Engineering student at Balamand University for winning this prize,” said Dr. Soula Kyriacos, Head of R&D, Pharmaline. “It was a pleasure collaborating with her and Balamand University on this very important topic. The findings complement our own studies in the development of new generic products,” she added. Pharmaline is committed to partner and engage in research with academic institutions across Lebanon.

This study was also conducted in collaboration with Dr. Carla Karam, Formulation Scientist, Pharmaline and under the supervision of Dr. Nissrine El Hassan, Associate Professor, Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Balamand, and Dr. Kyriacos. LIRA was founded with the mission to empower collaboration between academia and industry. This year, under the patronage of H.E. Hussein Hajj Hassan, Lebanese Minister of Industry, the forum brought together 71 newly developed academic-industrial projects from 15 universities and hosted high ranking government officials, academics, and industrialists to discuss how to enhance cooperation between the younger generation of future engineers, researchers and industrialists.
